Founding Member Takes the Bus!
Last night, we confirmed a leak that founding member Ross Mckay has decided to quit the colonial-rock outfit Shanks Pony!
McKay said he was upset that he had to make the decision.
"But I really am sick of playing such shite music", he said.
Lead singer Pete Varcoe said he was disappointed to hear the news but at the same time "was happy that Ross could look forward to a nice peaceful life"... (it was either that or he called him a poof or something.)
Bass player Haydn Pickersgill aka 'The Phantom' was only thrilled to hear that the show will go on.
"We don't need him", he said. "We'll work something out"!
Sources say that Rosco had no ill-feelings about anything, just that it was time to call it a day. He's just completely sick of playing with a bunch of morons, and the drugs don't work!
Piano accordion player Todd Lynch thought it was quite ironic how Rosco was always telling jokes about his parole officer, but also said "We're definitely gonna miss him, and he might be back".
Varcoe was able to confirm that Rosco's departure was definitely on good terms and the great friendships that have been forged will continue on.
Rosco's last gig with Shanks Pony will be this Saturday the 29th of August at Fenians Irish Pub in the city. Entry is free.
