Bring on the Pints

Written by Shanks Pony

Home time sirens hallelujah, pierce the musty air
Down your tools, you working fools, you’re not paid to care
Tramp your boots, among the suits, forget what’s ailing you
Among your own, you’re not alone, time to drink some brew

Chorus
Take off your hat and stash your coat, let’s get on the beer
Get in the shout, you lazy lout, or folk will think you’re queer
We’ll sing some songs off key, we’ll tell some mighty lies
Set up another round, bring on the pints

Don’t give me your chardonnay, your metrosexual fads
I’d rather a strong porter and a lager with the lads
'Cause we poor swine have something fine, and don’t need nothing more
The spirit of a working man, you can’t buy in a store

Bring on the Pints (x 5)

Chorus

The call upon the working man to fight their bloody wars
We’re the ones who hit the wall, when the market hits the floor
They take and take and never give, they’d have us live in fear
But they dread the wrath of the regulars, if they turned off the beer

Chorus

Some will die of broken hearts, others die in pain
We all go when death it comes, it makes us all the same
I plan to leave when I’m good and done with friends and lover near
Make sure you send me off with hearty songs and lots of bloody beer

Bring on the Pints (x 5)

Chorus
