Last night Shanks Pony took off down to Capitol in the City of Perth to checkout the punk band from Boston USA, Dropkick Murphys.
There’s no doubt amongst us all that these guys know how to Rock!
The mosh pit had started before they even got on stage, and Pete and I were known to have thrown ourselves amongst it every now and then.
It was great to hear all their material live, and they certainly didn’t seem to have a problem with punters getting up on stage with them. By the end of the night, the stage was jam packed with punters, and it was very difficult to spot a band member.
It was great to see such a good crowd erupting to all their new tunes and older stuff. Unforgettable tunes included their first song for the evening ‘For Boston’, ‘Kiss Me I’m Sh*tfaced’, ‘Shipping up to Boston’, ‘Rocky Road to Dublin’, ‘Spicy Mchaggis Jig’ , and a tribute to AC/DC (why not they’re in Perth) with ‘A Long Way to the Top (if u wanna rock n roll)’. The only song I wish they had played was ‘Tessie’. That’s a cracker!
I’ll definately be going to see them next time they come.
We just need to get Flogging Molly over to Perth now… if you’re living in the East – make sure you get along.
